Is it true that Handel wrote these suites for Crazy King George III of England? The story I was told is King George asked Handel to write music to help him not go crazy, so these suites were played on the king's barge as it floated down the Thames and it is believed that it helped him. Also, I've been told there have been experiments with this music to see if it improves thinking. Alpha brain waves are supposed to be present when the mind is at its most creative and deep in thought. The experiment involved 4 subjects that were screened to control variables. Four people (subjects) were put in soundproof rooms and hooked up to electrodes to measure brain waves. One listened to Handel's water music, the other 3; rock & roll, country/western, and soft rock. Only the subject with Handel produced alpha waves. As a 4th grade teacher, I used to play this during testing time and compared test scores with and without. There was a huge jump in scores with the music.

And without even a pencil! He had to use a quill and ink well! All those notes for all those instruments - how on earth did he do it? The music is genius but so is the method by which it was created. Where are composers like this nowadays? They use computers, compose in minutes, and only need a 7-minute song (that is a disgrace to music) to make millions. Most Baroque and Classical composers lived in stark poverty.

I cannot explain my feelings when I listen opera when I hear opera it feels like I'm not in this world the voice is magic the relaxation in voice is just upstanding I love opera and I am only 15. When we hear opera it feels like we are in heaven.thanksssss byeeee
